In their seasons the Gardens provide a rich variety of colour and charm for both the keen gardener, and for the visitor simply wanting to enjoy a beautiful garden in peaceful surroundings.
The 15 acres of Wild Garden feature Woodland and Burnside Walks.

|A large domestic garden on the grand scale, Kailzie
Gardens lie within a traditional estate occupying a beautiful position
on the River Tweed.
Surrounded by magnificent hills, and planted with a wide variety of mature specimen trees.
Within the Walled Garden are greenhouses, herbaceous borders, many unusual species of shrubs, laburnum arches and an enchanting rose garden.
|Spring and early Summer produces carpets of snowdrops,
daffodils and bluebells, followed by rhododendrons, azaleas and early shrubs.
Primulas of many varieties and colours are planted along the Burn, and beds of meconopsis (the Himalayan blue poppy) can be found in the Major’s Walk.
As the Summer ends, the Gardens are ablaze with the glorious colours of Autumn.
|Near the site of the old house, demolished in 1962,
is the Dovecot, duckpond and Peacocks. Other attractions include an Art
Gallery, Gift Shop, Tearoom and Licensed Restaurant (01721) 722807 and
the Children’ s Corner. The Art Gallery is situated in the courtyard opposite
the restaurant and has regular exhibitions of invited artists throughout
the summer. Holiday Cottage. The attractive Coachman’ s Cottage is available
for holiday lets throughout the year. Cosy, comfortable and well-equipped,
it is much enjoyed by those who appreciate the quiet environment and Gardens.
For anglers, private fishing is available on the River Tweed (5 minutes
walk from the cottage) and the well-stocked Trout Pond. Close to Edinburgh
and from the many Historic Borders towns and villages, there is much to
see and do.
