Within the Walled Garden are greenhouses, herbaceous borders, many unusual species of shrubs, laburnum arches and an enchanting rose garden.

Spring and early Summer produces carpets of snowdrops, daffodils and bluebells, followed by rhododendrons, azaleas and early shrubs.

Primulas of many varieties and colours are planted along the Burn, and beds of meconopsis (the Himalayan blue poppy) can be found in the Major’s Walk.

As the Summer ends, the Gardens are ablaze with the glorious colours of Autumn.
